If you don't own the required games now, I would wait till the summer sale and buy them then as they will most certainly be at a steep discount. I have returned to the Arma 2 mod till such a time that I feel I will enjoy Dayz Standalone again. There are usually vendors who will sell you things using that servers currency, vehicles, guns, etc. The enemy, as players on the DayZ server will quickly discover, is not the zombies. A game that fascinates despite small bugs and attracts players to the DayZ servers. It is far more visually pleasing than the Arma 2 mod.Īrma 3 mod is neat in that it combines parts of both mod and standalone, but your experience is going to vary wildly on the server you choose. Dean Hall, the lone developer of the mod for Arma 2, has created an absolute cult with DayZ, all about Permadeath, zombies, supplies and human nature. It takes more of a survival aspect and you will really grow attached to your character and gear because it takes so long to find what you are looking for. Play this if you want easy access to guns and vehicles.ĭayz Standalone is a completely different player experience. There are a ton of other mods other than vanilla, but not near the pop. There are not a ton of full pop servers, but there are always at least 4 or 5 full ones when I am on. This isn't everything and it doesn't even mention the craftable items:

Modifiable weapons (saw off mosin, shotgun, paint weapons, etc) Inventory space increased by clothing type

Items in inventory act as improvised armorĬan carry nearly every item in your hand including full backpacks Restraining players (handcuffs, rope, tape) Features in standalone not present in the mod (off the top of my head, please feel free to add something I forgot):
